Each of the nine original compositions featured on 'Trio' has a story behind it. The goal of this recording, laid down over two sessions as '01 became '02, was to capture these stories using the guitar, and the ensemble, as a storytelling device. The experiences behind the tunes are varied. Sweet to bittersweet, gently humorous to unexpected loss. This is the stuff of life, and there is beauty in it all - beauty these three musicians came together to trace.

And the stories? As narratives translated from experience to musical expression, these tunes become stories, happenings, experiences in and of themselves. Listen to the tunes, they now are the stories. For, as we know, stories change, develop new shades of meaning, take on their own lives with each retelling. These tunes have their own voices, and have been sent out into the world to seek their fortunes, to speak for themselves.

On the other hand, it may be best just to ignore this high-toned philosophsing about creation myths. For what truly counts is this is a simply CD of music honestly created by three accomplished musicians enjoying the delicate rush of expression.
